Project Overview

This client is a polio survivor who uses her motorized wheelchair fulltime. When her home's stair lift was becoming challenging to use, she needed the flexibility to easily navigate her main floor and transfer between the main floor and basement. Now an all-glass elevator provides access to all levels. The open floor plan is easier to maneuver and includes an expanded kitchen with wider traffic flow, an extended island, and a roll-in pantry. The half bath includes a sink that the owner can roll up to, and a straight path to the commode. The larger concrete front porch and ramp now provides additional barrier-free access into and out of the home.
