Project Overview

The homeowners needed an additional ground level master suite to accommodate aging parents. One of the parents needed a bathroom that could be adaptable for some progressing health issues. The priority was to carve out space from the home's existing footprint and create a universally designed bedroom and bathroom that could be adjusted as the father's health changed or diminished. This would grant the flexibility to offer either maximum independence or assisted care. To do so, some unused garage space was converted into an extra bedroom with an ensuite bathroom that incorporated all of the universal design principles.
