Project Overview

The owners of this new construction home wanted a landscape design aesthetic that complemented the home while incorporating both linear and organic forms. Requests included a rear lawn for kids to the play and outdoor living spaces for gatherings, including grilling, dining and lounge areas. An Asian element was to be incorporated, paying homage to part of the family's cultural lineage. Project obstacles included two retaining walls on either end of the yard as well as work completed during one of the rainiest seasons on record in Virginia. The final result is an integration of both classic and organic garden elements.
