Project Overview

When this couple bought their Deephaven/Shorewood home, they didn't mind the sloping yard. That changed as their family grew and the kids needed a safe place to play. The narrow, sloping site was tamed and made functional with an intelligent, multi-terrace design that added a pool, patio, deck and level natural turf yard in a compact space, which was constrained by a steep hillside above and a marsh below. LED rope lighting on risers improves visibility and promotes stair safety, while porcelain tile and plank decking stays cool under swimmers' bare feet. Thanks to a kid-friendly jumping ledge, they even have a wet bar and outdoor kitchen.
