Project Overview

The homeowners of this newly acquired house wanted a large open-concept kitchen for their growing family. To accomplish this, a load-bearing wall between the old dining room and small galley kitchen was removed and a new steel beam and post system installed. The structural beam was wrapped in wood cladding and an additional faux beam put in for balance. Both beams now terminate into a custom reeded hood. A large gathering island full of storage is the centerpiece of the new kitchen. A 48-inch dual-fuel range and 60-inch refrigerator / freezer were also selected for this family who loves to entertain.
