Project Overview

The U-shaped kitchen in this 60-year-old home had limited workspace and a column in the middle that significantly obstructed navigation. Because entertaining is an essential aspect of the clients' lifestyle, they wanted to engage with guests in a stylish space while cooking and playing their beautiful piano. The new kitchen design balances mod inspiration and universal design considerations with multiple open points of entry. Multi-level countertops and waterfalls give the island an appealing sculptural asymmetry illuminated by the surprise of a brilliant Sputnik chandelier. The clients love how their bright new kitchen now feels dramatically more open and inviting.
