Project Overview

This 1980s kitchen was transformed and brought into the modern age to better serve a family and their young children. The old dark cave-like room was brightened with a careful selection of materials and the removal of walls to adjacent spaces. The installation of a steel beam under a two-wythe brick wall helped create the new open space. This improved the flow of the kitchen, adding more natural light, better task lighting, access to the garage and a full height door to the basement. The new space features marble-look quartz countertops, natural marble backsplashes, brush gold accents, stainless steel appliances, and recessed and under-cabinet lighting.
