Project Overview

The clients of this large project wanted to lighten and revive the dark, heavy kitchen, bar, and family rooms. Moving the 36-inch range to a back wall created a new focal point in the kitchen. To further open the spaces, columns and archways were removed in the family room, adding needed connectivity. The original island created pinch-points; the new island is now a gathering spot full of hidden storage. A custom quartz countertop with metal strapping and contrasting stripe is the centerpiece. The family room fireplace was re-imagined by installing vertical posts, stacked stone, a walnut mantle, and new paint.
