Project Overview

We needed to turn a staircase in order to open up the adjacent kitchen space and accommodate a new bathroom. There were many unexpected challenges in accomplishing this, including troubleshooting how to run these stairs through double concrete walls. Also, the stairs had to match the original long leaf pine flooring in this home. An old government building that was being torn down had old longleaf pine posts, which were salvaged and reused on the stair treads. A custom iron railing complements this beautiful statement staircase.
