Project Overview

This project transformed the clients' backyard from basic to a beautiful space for entertaining, relaxing and spending time with friends and family. A roof with a fir ceiling and skylights over the existing patio was built, along with an additional patio area to accommodate a gas firepit and dining area. One challenge addressed was the large open gable through the design of a hidden steel girder truss between the two columns. The steel connection to the top is now a design detail, giving the illusion that the roof is floating over the columns.
