Project Overview

The owners of this 1924 Minneapolis home wanted to transform it into a modern sanctuary, preserving the original Craftsman feel while updating it with stylistic elements inspired by their travels in Asia. Their new home exterior includes a timber-framed portico designed to look like a temple entrance; hand-cut and stacked slate stones set around the lower perimeter of the house; lap siding laid out in a unique organic pattern; trim boards that echo the temple motif; and a copper-and-stone rain catchment system designed to look relaxing and beautiful.
