Project Overview

Constructed in 1906, the Louis G. Pfunder House represents an early example of Craftsman architecture, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The client wanted a restoration specialist who could recommend and execute design details for their deteriorating porch railing components. Severe dry rot had impacted the porch railings and the lower railing had completely deteriorated. The project involved removing 70 percent of the deteriorated existing railing system, introducing longer lasting construction material choices, creating reproduction millwork, and the masterful reinstallation of all new work amidst the existing historic building fabric.
