Project Overview

Some significant, yet sensitive changes were made to this 1952 midcentury-style home. The entire exterior was updated while maintaining half of the existing roofline and expanding the second floor with a contemporary flat roof, which also increased the square footage on the second floor. Details include maintenance free charcoal-colored siding, a unique flashing detail that eliminates the need for traditional corner boards, and a repurposed stone veneer with a strong vertical accent. The rear expansion involved changing a jalousie porch into an expanded dining room and kitchen. The flat roof over this area now contains an upper deck. The exterior enhancements help give this home a new life.
